Google With Maharashtra Government to Install Learning Tools for Schools

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, online classes have now become the norm everywhere. Recently, Google has teamed up with the Maharashtra government to allow 2.3 crore students, as well as teachers, access its blended learning programmes which are based on classroom approach and online learning. Intending to facilitate distance learning, Google wants to install free tools such as Google Meet, Google Classroom, and G Suite for education.

Sanjay Gupta, the Country Head and Vice-President, Google India mentioned that because of COVID-19 pandemic, more than 32 crore children across the country had been affected by the closure of schools. Thus, access to quality education has become even more critical.

With this new development, the department of school education will be providing individual students and educators with their respective G Suite ID irrespective of their location. This is to ensure every student gets to experience continued learning without disruption.
