Getting a Reprint of PAN Card is Now Easy, says IT department

Getting access to a Permanent Account Number (PAN) was considered a tedious procedure. If you lose your PAN card or if it is stolen you will need another copy of it for future transactions. Therefore, the income tax department has reduced the complexity of the process to get a duplicate copy of the card. You can get a reprint of the card for just Rs.50 if the card is misplaced, lost, or damaged.

PAN cards will be distributed to the public through two agencies – UTIITSL and NSDL-TIN. Depending on which agency had issued the card in the first place, a consumer can approach either of the agencies for a reprint.

The reprint facility can be availed only when there is no change in the data. If the original card was provided by UTIITSL, the consumer can submit a request on the UTIITSL’s PAN online portal. Upon successful application, the applicant will get the reprinted card delivered to his doorstep.

While applying online, the applicant must also make an online payment of Rs.50 (inclusive of taxes). The nominal fee is to bear the delivery charges for the card to be delivered to any postal address within India. If the card is required to be delivered to a foreign address, a fee of Rs.959 (inclusive of taxes) must be paid online. The card will be delivered to the correspondence address as updated with the issuer.

When you submit the online application, you must back it up with your latest picture and signature.
