The income tax (I-T) department has published a comprehensive tax calendar on its official website, outlining the due dates for the month, which individuals are required to take note of.
Here’s a look at a few tax-related deadlines that fall in February 2024:
- February 7, 2024: This is the due date for the deposit of tax deducted/ collected at source (TDS/TCS) for January 2024.
However, all the sum collected/deducted by an office of the government shall be paid to the credit of the Central government on the same day when tax is paid minus the production of an income-tax challan.
- February 14, 2024: This is the deadline for issuing of tax deducted at source (TDS) certificate for tax deducted under Sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M and 194S by a specified person in December 2023.
- February 15, 2024: This is the due date for submitting Form 24G by an office of the government where TDS/TCS for January 2024 has been paid without the production of a challan.
Typically, Form 24G carries all the information related to tax deducted at source (TDS). This information is submitted to the Drawing and Disbursement Officer (DDO), which processes it further.
The quarterly TDS certificate with regard to tax deducted for payments other than salary for the quarter ending December 31, 2023, is also necessitated to be submitted up to this date.
