The Centre has extended the deadline for GST filing for taxpayers in 14 cyclone-hit districts in Odisha. The deadline has been changed from May 20, 2019 to June 20, 2019.
Debasish Panda, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance said that he reviewed the banking service situation in the cyclone-hit districts. Barring Puri, 99% of the banks are functioning again in Odisha.

In spite of the large-scale destruction caused by Fani, life in Odisha is slowly getting back to normal. NDRF is providing a lot of support to rebuilding the state. The Centre is also aiding Odisha in the form of finances, manpower, and logistics.
Numerous NGOs are also providing relief to the Fani affected people by giving free essential commodities and ration.
Electricity has been restored in parts of Puri after 12 days of Fani, including the Jagannath temple. In five more days, the entire coast is expected to receive electricity in phases.
