The CBDT conceptualised the campaign to assist and support taxpayers and stakeholders in the e-fling of returns while addressing other IT related onuses under the current tax laws.

The campaign will be launched at all regional offices of the IT Department where the day will be honoured by praising the taxpayers who have been filing taxes regularly.

Income Tax day is observed on 24 July every year to honour the day the income tax was recognised as a duty rather than an obligation in the year 1860. It was on the very same day the income tax department also came into force.
